Welcome to our new Account Manager, Rebecca.

Dec 2nd, 2019

rebecca pates stuff advertising combined imageIn August, we welcomed our new Account Manager, Rebecca Pates, to Stuff! Rebecca comes from a digital background having worked with BMW Group for the last two years. We sat down with her to see what brings her to Stuff and find out her interests.

What have you enjoyed most so far at Stuff?
I have enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the Stuff offices – everyone has been very welcoming and helped me while I get stuck into working on some of our current projects. I also love the location – I walk by Bristol Harbourside every morning, rain or shine, and it’s such a great way to start the day.

What did you do prior to starting at Stuff?
I moved to Bristol after university three years ago and initially worked in a bookshop before getting a job at a digital marketing agency where I worked for the last two years on their BMW account. Safe to say, I know a lot of facts about BMW cars!

What is your favourite campaign?
I am a big fan of the ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ campaign that Metro Trains in Melbourne, Australia ran to promote railway safety.

While the campaign is great for its light hearted and fun approach, I think it works because of how interactive it is – two mobile games, a music video and a series of cuddly toys were created for the campaign. Off the back of the campaign, Metro Trains reported that accidents decreased by 30% following the campaign in 2012. A public service campaign doesn’t have to be clinical, shocking or gory – sometimes laughter is the best medicine.

What 3 words would your friends and family use to describe you?
Friendly, level-headed, conscientious.
Incredibly well organised.
Grumpy when hungry.

What do you like doing in your spare time?
I do a lot of reading as well as watch many films and TV shows in my downtime. I also go to the gym which I then counteract by trying out one of the many great food places in Bristol!

What are you looking forward to doing at Stuff?
I’m looking forward to working with lots of different clients in different industries as well as seeing through my first few projects from start to finish!
